If you love Chinatown and especially if you are a foodie like me, you may want to sign up for "Heart's Content", the irregular emails from Elaine Tin Nyo's current project for Art in General (if not, check out the project blog at http://the-eat-in.blogspot.com and read her entries online). Here's the invitational email I received a short while back:
Hi everyone,
This is the only message you're going to get from me through Art in General. From now on I'll be writing to you from my phone. But only if you subscribe to my list.
Dim sum, I am told, means something like "eat to your heart's content." In the spirit of dim sum, I have drawn an eight block circle around AiG and I intend to eat from as many places that offer delivery and take out as I can. I will send my email journal to those of you who chose to subscribe. And I invite you to send me your reports and suggestions as well as tell your friends.
On November 11 at 2pm you are invited to join me for The Eat In at Art in General. It will be an über dim sum of sorts: tables, chairs, chopsticks and delivery menus will be made available. You are invited to order (and pay for) your own delivery or bring in your own take out, and eat it in a communal setting.
Again, this is the only mailing you will get from me about this project, "Heart's Content" unless you subscribe. To subscribe please send an email to me at eatin@artingeneral.org. Feel free to send suggestions of your favorite places in AiG's neighborhood.
Best,
Elaine[This program is part of Where To?, curated by Dean Daderko and organized in conjunction with Art in General’s 25th Anniversary.]
