This is Scorpio's month, one of the most challenging signs of the zodiac to be born under or indeed to have rising (ascending). It is a fixed water sign, emotional and rigid in attitude. Being ruled by Pluto and co-ruled by Mars (its ancient ruler before Pluto was observed), the implications are inscrutability, depth, intensity, passion, power and insight. More than any other sign Scorpios have to develop responsibility for their great desire to have power and know how to use it. Scorpios can be saints or sinners. They can use their implicit power for healing and transformation and regeneration, or for destructiveness and self-aggrandisement. Scorpio has little neutrality. It is sign of extremes that tend to love or hate. It likes control and abhors the loss of it and can be obsessive about its goals with courage, tenacity and stoicism. They have to be careful what they want, as they may get it. This sign spots the other fellow's Achilles heel a mile off and it has a sort of x-ray vision.

Scorpio can be accurate but not necessarily charitable in its insight into others. Equally, their insight gives them the ability to know how to benefit and heal others’ pain. They have great penetration into the deep, the hidden and the dark and they feel the need to uncover and expose and hopefully create benefits as a result by so-doing. It is the sign of the healer when its power is used consciously and wisely. It is not afraid of the dark side of the human condition. They know that we have to embrace the dark to find the light and indeed they are drawn to the dark. It is by digging into the deep and the hidden that they uncover valuable enlightenment. They make great spies and researchers. Truth is more important than comfort for Scorpios. Because of their love of power they often also like money as it affords power. [...]
