Jeremiah Wright and Bill Clinton at 1998 White House Prayer Breakfast
The entire Reverend Wright flap is bogus, *they* slimed him, it stunk from the get-go. He is actually an amazing figure with an amazing story. What has been hounding me all along is: exactly who dug out those clips and presented them so utterly out of context?? It's old material, so someone had to go looking with an agenda in mind. I didn't want to believe it was someone from the Clinton camp... And then, after very little scratching this turns up. Fox. I guess we should have known. The other networks who aped Fox without (apparently) doing any fact checking of their own should be raked over the coals. Is journalism dead in this country? (Apparently it just about is in the UK).

Thought you might like to see the actual sermon from which Fox News excerpted the sound bite of Rev Wright saying that the chickens had come home to roost on 9/11. If you watch the whole sermon the part Fox excerpted and which has been played again and again is Wright QUOTING a former ambassador under Reagan who he had seen the night before ON FOX NEWS. Those are the Ambassador's words not Wright's. What Wright actually says about 9/11 in this sermon about what the response to the tragedy of 9/11 should be is that each one of us should look deep into ourselves before acting in revenge. That now was a time for self reflection. The Fox clip which has been played subsequently by every news station in America is a remarkable piece of propaganda. Because those who edited the clip knew full well the lie in what that they were doing.
