Cai Guo-Qiang at the Guggenheim
Cai Guo-Qiang, whose main medium is gunpowder (and whose works on paper and canvas fetch millions), gets a mid-career survey at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Some of the pyrotechnics are wow-provoking, but the firework-induced images and the sculptural installations can seem facile. Watch, and be the judge.
