Joy Garnett: Explosion, Black & Yellow, 2009, oil on canvas, 26 x 32 inches. Courtesy of Winkleman Gallery, NY
Joy Garnett's 'Explosion, Black & Yellow' has been reproduced in the August issue of Canteen magazine, a homegrown, biannual journal of literature and art "that explores how writers and artists -- even chefs, glass workers, and CIA agents -- do what they do." Canteen also operates a writing program in Harlem for underprivileged youth.
Read more about Canteen and its recent gala launch party at the home of Pam and Arnold Lehman, Brooklyn Museum of Art director, in PAPER MAGAZINE and on Scallywag & Vagabond.
Watch for Garnett's next solo exhibition, Boom & Bust, opening at Winkleman Gallery in Chelsea [map], on Friday, October 15, 2010.
