The Inuit Art Centre, a program within the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC), has served to promote contemporary Inuit art since the 1960s. The Research and Documentation section of the Centre maintains a comprehensive reference library, including 100,000 slides and photographs, as well as interviews and videos documenting work by Inuit artists. Over 4,000 artists' files are available (see list) and individual artist biographies can be provided, free of charge, upon request.
