Visual AIDS will be participating in the New York City Council’s “I Talk About HIV/AIDS Because...” campaign for World AIDS Day.
The New York City Council, together with HIV/AIDS organizations across the five boroughs, has launched a YouTube-based HIV/AIDS awareness campaign that will continue until World AIDS Day, December 1st, 2010. Why talk about HIV/AIDS to the people in your life? We know that open and honest conversations can prevent new HIV infections and reduce the stigma attached to people living with HIV/AIDS. And because every 9 minutes an American is infected with HIV, we need to educate ourselves and others about the virus. Join the conversation. Share why you talk about HIV/AIDS to the people in your life and why this is important to you. Visit http://youtube.com/italkbecause to see more videos and to find out how to start the conversation.
The XVII International AIDS Conference in Mexico City, will be held August 3-8, 2008.

This project builds on the travels of poet and writer Kwame Dawes who returned to the country of his youth to speak with Jamaicans about the impact HIV has had on them and their country. It is by far the most unique blending of Pulitzer Center coverage of a pressing underreported international issue – this one on America’s doorstep – and diverse media to reach the American public.
Bristol- Myers is donating a dollar to AIDS every time someone goes to their website and moves the match to the candle and lights it. It takes a second to raise a dollar.
here! Networks is currently undertaking a project to commemorate World AIDS Day on Dec. 1st called the Virtual AIDS Quilt. We are collecting stories and images from people who have lost loved ones and will assemble them, creating an online collage to honor those lost. We are reaching out to organizations and online blogs in order to spread the word about this project, which is accepting submissions now. The virtual quilt will then be unveiled on Dec. 1st.
For more information about the project, please read the press release.
The official site for submitting a collection of images and memories can be found at http://aidsquilt.heretv.com
New York, October 6, 2006. Bond Art and Science, a digital solutions firm based in New York City, is pleased to announce its role in designing the Think HIV website (www.thinkhiv.org) in collaboration with MTV and the Kaiser Family Foundation. think HIV online is an interactive community designed to be a safe space for young people to share their personal stories through videos, photos, blogs and text about HIV/AIDS. think HIV builds on both MTV and Kaiser's 10-year partnership to inform and empower young people in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Their current joint campaign – think: Sexual Health – includes public services announcements (PSAs), long-form programming, and online resources.
